I am interested in creating a blog directory. I own the domain 'blogslist.com'. The website I am looking to build would be somewhat of a cross between 'BloggingFusion.com and CraigsList.org'. I want the design to be a somewhat crowded page like Craigslist.org, with mostly category links, but with the functionality for new blogs to be added easily from the home page. I also want there to be free listings and paid listings ($1-$5 per month). I also want the front page to have a 'featured section', a 'new blog section', and a 'search the blogs' section. I hope that the website will have thousands of listings, and with the search feature, will create dynamic page of results from database. So there won't be thousands of pages, just one dynamic page with the search results from the database. The website would also have a A-B-C…to X-Y-Z links to list all blogs starting with an 'A', or a 'B', or a 'D' or 'F' etc. Payment would be through PayPal, and probably Stripe, or Venmo…or maybe even 'Zelle Payment'. I have a very rough draft of the first page, but I am open to your design if you feel you have a better design. I also have affiliate ad accounts with about 5 different affiliate ad websites like Amazon, Commission Junction, etc. So I would like affiliate ads to run down the right side of the page. I would also like the website to be a responsive website that works across all devices, such as phones, tablets and computers. I also would like to have the data-scraping feature to find and populate the directory with blogs that already exists, and then send an email to them notifying them of their new listing. All data scraped listings would be free and listed for 3-6 months, and then turn into a basic $2 a month listing if the blog owner agrees to pay for the listing. If the blog owner decides not to pay for the listing, I would want the listing to stay visible, but be 'grayed out' so that it was still in the search results but not active, or linked to the actual blog. I have a hosting account with SSL and MSql. But I am open to using a different hosting service if needed. I also have a affiliate ad script that I would like incorporated so that I can add affiliate ads easily.
The website should only be about 4-5 static existing pages…and then a dynamic page that is populated by the search results from the database. If I search for real estate, then all blogs with the tags for real estate should be dynamically brought from the database and populated on the search results dynamic page.
